What have Mrs Boyles' class been up to?

  Welcome to Class 4B!

As a class, we will try and keep this page updated as often as possible in order to share all the wonderful things that we do in school.

We have had a great start to the term.  The children have been working hard and are looking forward to finding out more about 'Explorers'.  Keep a look out for homework books which should come home ready for the weekend.  We hope that you enjoy the activities we set for you to share with your child.

Camp week

Hello 4B, I hope you are having a good week with Mrs Hale and Ms Dickins. I'm missing you lots and looking forward to getting back to see you next week.

We are having a good week down here in Bude and the weather is sunny and warm. I have a lovely group of children to look after and they are all enjoying their activities.

We have done lots of exciting things and many of them seem to include getting wet!!  We went canoeing yesterday and I was in a canoe with Matthew and Haleema and we accidently capsized...... Whoops! All the children had wet suits but I didn't so I was soaking wet. All the children in my group laughed, how mean is that!!! You wouldn't have laughed would you?

Today we have been surfing. It was absolutely amazing. I tried very hard to stand up on my board but kept falling off but it was great fun. We have just had our tea AND NOW i'M THINKING ABOUT ALL OF YOU!!!

Here are some pictures to show you how much fun we are having. Can't wait to get back to my own class though.

   Term 2 November 2009

The whole class have been enjoying finding out about Robert Scott and his journey to Antartica. Emily says " The best bit was when we decided what we would take on an artic expedition ourselves"

We have also been doing some art work and trying our hand at line drawings. "It was hard to concentrate on the size and position of the eyes, nose and mouth" explained Abby. We all found it really difficult to start with but are having another try today (13th).

Chloe really loved our RE recently. "I found deigning my own rules interesting".

Lots of the children enjoyed writing newspaper reports. Euan commented on the 'Colin Cashalot' activity which was popular all round.

Everyone was really enthusiastic about our new DT project which involves designing snow shoes. We designed state of the art modern snow shoes with Sat Nav, compasses, lighting, rocket power, auto pilot and much, much more. The designs will be diplayed outide the classroom soon!        http://library.thinkquest.org/04oct/00450/snowshoes.htm

Jorja said " I really enjoyed finding out whether 9 year olds have bigger feet than 8 year olds" We used tally charts, pictograms and bar charts to discover the answer...... Watch this space and the truth will be revealed next week!"
